Getting a Kindle I've been getting more into ebooks over the past several years since I can get them for free from my library. But have only been able to read them on my phone. I've always dreamed of having a simple ereader that would feel more comfortable for my eyes to read, and at long last I finally got one! I treated myself with a Kindle Paperwhite with a gift card I had and a discount on Amazon. It has been my constant companion ever since and I love it so much. Of course, I still prefer physical books, but when it comes to ebooks, it's truly life changing!

Hot Chocolate Growing up I was never a huge hot chocolate person, but this fall and winter I have been more drawn to making myself hot chocolate for a dessert or late afternoon treat. My favorite is when I put marshmallows, whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

The Prestige I recently rewatched this movie, and for some reason it hit me harder than it did the first time. In my opinion it's a very underrated movie with such an interesting premise and an amazing cast with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale! I have found myself thinking about the twisty ending all the time. I can't recommend it enough!

A NEW new Taylor Swift Album I thought I was dreaming when I woke up the other week to the news that Taylor was releasing a second album within a few months. Evermore was everything I didn't know I needed and is a beautiful extension of the Folklore era! I can't help but think of the two albums together, so I can't pick favorites, but Evermore spoke to me and hit deep nerves. I can't stop listening to it! My favorite songs: willow, tolerate it, coney island, ivy, marjorie, and evermore (but honestly, all of the songs!)

Trusting God There are just some times when it's harder to leave your troubles in God's hands, but His way is always best, and I'm learning that more and more. Just looking back and seeing His provisions in my life has been so reassuring, and it makes it easier to set aside my worries. It's still something I'm working on every day, though.

Dungeons and Dragons One of my husbands friends started an online D&D campaign a couple weeks ago, and we decided to join. I have always thought I would be a person who would enjoy RPGs if I understood them, and while I'm still a complete newbie, I think my assumption is proving to be true! I'm still working on my character and her backstory, and figuring out the dynamics of our party, but it's been such a great creative outlet.

This tea I bought myself some of this Yorkshire Malted Biscuit tea on impulse after a recommendation from Katie at A Life Between Words, and I can confirm it's incredible! It's definitely not a cup of tea to have every morning, but it makes an amazing latte when you want something creamy and sweet. It truly tastes like you're having tea and biscuits in a teashop in London or something. It's become one of my new favorites!

Our first Christmas together There's something special about spending your first holiday season as a married couple. My husband is admittedly a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas. But it's still been fun to put up a Christmas tree and decorations in our little apartment, and to buy presents for each other and our family members, even if I'm the only one to really enjoy it.

Monk We've been watching through this series for the past several months, and it's become such a good comfort watch. It feels like the equivalent of a cozy murder mystery series, but made for television. I appreciate it so much! The running jokes and character quirks make the show so special, and the murder cases are so complex and interesting.

Making goals I'm ready for the new year! Not just because of how hard 2020 has been, but because I love making new goals for myself and to see what a fresh start will bring. I have already been thinking through some things I want to accomplish in the new year and can't wait to make a game plan to make them happen!

  2. I remember watching The Prestige from years back, and being amazed. Now reading your entry makes me want to re-watch it again! It's in my college hard drive somewhere..
It's great that you were able to get a Kindle. It can indeed be a struggle to read ebooks through the phone.. but I remember doing the same. I *tried* (huge emphasis on 'tried' lol) to read Marcel Proust's In Search For Lost Time through my phone but nope, it did not work out.. haha!
Thank you also for the mention by the way! As I was reading I saw my entry and I was just pleasantly surprised.. :") haha thank you. Wishing you a Merry Christmas! ♡♡♡
